私が剣道を始めたのは、小学五年生の頃。とくに強かったわけではないし、上手くもなかった。 しかし、指導を受けた先生方のゆたかな人間性と美意識にふれ、現在に至るまで、この道に関わってきた。 剣の道には、人が成長していく上で大切な要素が含まれてると思う。学んだことは、社会へ出たときの礎となるはず。 始めるのに「早い」「遅い」はない。その一歩を踏み出す気持ちがあれば、剣の道は誰でもすぐに歩き始めることができる。

［Kendo 8th Dan Kyoshi］
Started kendo when I was 11 years old. I wasn’t particularly strong or skilful but I continued to practice kendo up until today , mostly because of my teacher’s humanity, who also taught me the concept of aesthetic beauty. I believe that kendo teaches some important elements which are useful in our everyday life. What we learn in kendo studies shall become the foundation of our life. It is never too late to start Kendo. I believe that if one decides to make the first step to enter the learning of the way of the sword, the gate is always open at any point of his or her life.
All Kendoka are welcome to stay at my house up to 3 days for Kendo practice, while visiting Kyushu. And I am happy to look after your Kendo practice during your stay.
